AUDIO PRODUCTIONSWe can record anything that speaks – or makes a noise!
We specialize in voice-overs for TV and radio commercials, documentaries, web videos, video games as well as eLearning, general training and tourism packages and much more besides.Of course! At ItalianVoices we can certainly produce projects featuring several voices at once. TV and radio ads, for example, are often centred on family or friends, and documentaries may feature more than one person. We can take care of the whole production process – from recording right through to editing the voices in post-production. Consistency in artistic style is important to our clients and therefore to us too, which is why all recordings are done in the same studio, directed by the same person.Certainly. Not all actors are up to the task, but ItalianVoices will help you find the perfect voices for your project, even if it’s a cartoon or a videogame or if you want someone with a particular dialectic pronunciation and / or social class. There are, after all, 20 regions in Italy, each with its own dialect – although the country’s official language is, of course, Italian. For more information about this point, read this article.Yes! Recording a voice-over and producing it to synchronise with the timing of the original voice is definitely a service we offer, but remember that the translation and adaptation of the original dialogue is of vital importance in these cases. The Italian translation of an English phrase tends to be longer, so the actor involved has to speak faster if he is to respect the original timing and sometimes, that doesn’t sound right, or natural.
If you are not 100% happy with your translation and adaptation, why not let us take care of that for you too? Years of experience mean we can guarantee the quality and the outcome, so go on, contact us for a quote!Yes again! Lip-syncing is one of our strong suits. All our voice actors come from the worlds of film and cinema and are well-versed in this type of work. Phrase-syncing is another option. It is quicker to do, not quite as expensive, but of course, not quite as perfect.ItalianVoices records exclusively in its Rome (Italy) studios. Home recording is NOT for us! Our aim is to provide clients with a top-quality, all-round service, from helping to select the right voices for each project and through every stage of production to completion. My heart is set on using the actor that dubs Alfred Hitchcock or Sean Penn into Italian. Can you help with that?Subject to his availability, of course! We have worked with most of Italy’s best known voice actors at some time or another, so if you have a particular request, your designated project manager will work with you to realize your dreams.Absolutely! ItalianVoices.com insists that there is a confidentiality clause in all our contracts covering all data, information, documents and other materials that clients provided us with. We guarantee that nothing will ever be used for anything except the audio project in question. We have deliberately chosen not to include - except for some cases authorized by the final client – audio demo of projects executed by us for past clients (that include various major brands) in our marketing material, whether we have worked with them direct or through third parties. Client confidentiality is extremely important to us and their privacy is always uppermost in our minds…
OTHER SERVICESDefinitely! We can provide translation and adaptation from all languages.Yes, we can divide your work into progressively numbered files or sort them according to your particular requirements. That depends on the type of project. If you just want a straightforward voice over there’s no need, but if you need the work to be time-synced or dubbed then a low-quality .mov video (preferably compressed) is essential and – if you are providing it, so is the script!Yes, we can sort out any sync problems and also encode the final video in whichever video format you require, including: .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .flv, or .avi.
ORDERING & PAYMENTFirst you will certainly want a quote, so we will need to see the final script (or be advised of its size / length etc.), the video – if integrating audio to video is required, your chosen voice(s) or else details about the age, sex, type you require, as well as the intended media usage (national commercial TV, web or answer phone etc.). We will get back to you with a price as quickly as possible and as soon as we have received written confirmation, we will agree a work schedule. What happens if there is a problem or if we need to change something once the project has been completed? The first thing to say is that we aim to get as detailed a brief as possible before work begins as the more information we have the less chance there is for mistakes or misunderstandings.
If, once the project has been completed and handed over, there is a problem with a word or phrase said badly or in the wrong tone of voice, then ItalianVoices will take care of it by re-recording the audio at no extra cost to the client. If however, there are changes to the script once the original recording has already been done, then the client will have to pay a supplement. That charge depends on how much extra work is involved, but it will certainly be less than the original cost incurred. Changes to the script, voices etc. after a quote has been accepted and confirmed will lead to a second quote and perhaps a small penalty charge – depending on how much work has already been done on the basis of the first quote. That can depend on which country you are based in, but the usual method is credit card, bank transfer or PayPal. The first project we work on for you – whatever the size – and any small projects thereafter must be paid prior to delivery, but for large projects thereafter we may be able to consider a deferred payment, or part payment in advance and part on delivery.
DELIVERYIt depends on how long or complex it is, but generally speaking, projects involving up to one hour of recording are usually delivered within 5 working days. Shorter projects might take only 24/48 hours, but in either case, the availability of the chosen voices and of the recording studio itself might be a delaying factor.
If you are working to a tight schedule and you want something done in a hurry, please let us know when you first ask for a quote and we will be able to be more specific about timing. We use a secure link on our platform server or FTP.
Sometimes, if requested, we can also use a third party service such as wetransfer.com.
Delivery does not incur any extra costs. We can deliver files in most of the usual formats: wav, aiff, mp3.
If however you need a particular or less common format, please let the project manager have details of the File Type and Bit and Sample Rates.
